I finally heard back from our care manager, and we’ve set up a conference at the hospital tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 PM. It looks like our team will include the care manager, a visiting nurse, a care helper, the medical equipment specialist, and myself.
It’s already been two weeks since the idea of transferring hospitals was first brought up. I guess this means the countdown toward starting home care has officially begun!
Today, I visited my family doctor to deliver a referral letter from the doctor at the emergency hospital. The clinic was unusually packed, and I ended up waiting for nearly 50 minutes. Whether it’s a large general hospital or a small neighborhood clinic, the wait times are always so long…
Before heading out, I was thinking about consulting the doctor about my own stomach discomfort, but since it felt a little better this morning compared to last night, I decided to keep quiet about it. I figured once I start taking medication, it’ll be hard to know when to stop.
As for sleepwear, which is an absolute necessity for discharge day, I ordered some on Sunday, but it still hasn’t shipped. Meanwhile, the pulse oximeter seems to have been shipped from Kurume City. Since I specified a morning delivery window, I’m guessing it won’t arrive until the day after tomorrow.
On the bright side, I finally ordered all the necessary nursing care supplies and diapers in bulk on Amazon. Amazon is always so fast with shipping and delivery, so that’s one less thing to worry about.
Normally, isn’t a care manager supposed to guide you through these kinds of preparations? But waiting around for them gets us nowhere, so I’ve just been taking charge and getting everything ready on my own.
On a happier note, today is Riona’s 1st birthday! 🎉
She has a bit of a cold right now, but she eats well, laughs a lot, and sleeps soundly. I’ll share photos another time!
My head is completely full today, so I’m going to get some rest.
